The company has now sent a letter to the Transport Commissioner and said that the company will follow the government-prescribed fare.
In a major move to lure chinese customers and gain market share, Uber has now expanded its partnereship with Alibaba backed Chinese payment app Alipay. Uber Chinese riders across the 68 countries will now be able to pay through the app.
After the Aam Admi Party-led Delhi government said that it will take stern actions against Uber and Ola for causing hardship to commuters, taxi aggregators Uber and Ola have withdrawn price surging in the state. “We are temporarily suspending surge in Delhi following impounding and permit threats,” said Gagan Bhatia, GM, Uber North.
The High Court in Delhi has asked Delhi government to file a reply on steps taken by Govt to stop Ola & Uber from charging fares arbitrarily during the odd-even phase. The Delhi government has said that it will take strict action against Uber and Ola for causing hardship to commuters and charging exorbitant prices.
Bhavish Agarwal, the founder of Ola Cabs, has taken to twitter to state that reports of alleged ola-uber deal as mentioned in DNA, was an attempt by Uber to malign their image. “We’re here for the long run. Planted malicious stories are a sign of others desperation!,” Bhavish said in his tweet.
“We will initiate appropriate legal action and seek redressal and compensation for the damage caused to us by this irresponsible reporting from DNA. We are shocked and dismayed at the lack of journalistic ethics in carrying the story, despite our repeated denial to the reporter and the publication’s editorial representatives.”
