TDS on virtual digital assets brings in Rs 60.46 crore tax

Since the implementation of TDS rules in July, the government claims to have collected a total of Rs 60.46 crore in tax from entities for transactions in virtual digital assets (VDAs), including cryptocurrencies.

The government implemented a 30% income tax as of April 1 along with a surcharge and a cess on the transfer of cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, and Dogecoin.
