Team Messaging App Flock Integrates Mailing Lists, Says Email is Not Dead

Team messaging app Flock has announced the launch of a powerful new feature called Mailcast, which integrates mailing list functionality directly into the application. With Mailcast, every group created on Flock is automatically converted to an email list, making group mailing convenient and hassle-free.

The Mailcast app in Flock creates a unique and permanent email address for every group. So if a user has a project group, say Project Zephyr, with 20 members in it, Mailcast will create a unique email id for it ‘projectzephyr@flockgroups.co’. Users can send an email to the entire group by simply pasting the auto-generated mail address into their email client.

The app also automatically updates the group`s mailing list if the users are added or removed from a Flock group.

The company claims that it’s the only team messenger in the world to integrate mailing list functionality within its team messaging app.

“While team messaging apps like Flock are designed for synchronous communication and collaboration, email is still as pertinent as ever and certain communications are still relevant on emails,” said Bhavin Turakhia, CEO and Founder of Flock, in a statement.

Mailcast App comes pre-installed with Flock and all a user needs to do is click on the Mailcast App icon in the chat tab panel.
