Bangalore-based space startup TeamIndus, has made it to the list of 5 finalists who will be competing in a $30 million Google Lunar XPRIZE competition that requires them to land and operate their robotic spacecraft on the surface of the moon. The XPrize Foundation, which is running the contest said that the contenders now have until December 31 for their spacecraft to be launched.
The other teams, who made it to the list are: SpaceIL (Israel), Moon Express (USA), Synergy Moon (International) and HAKUTO (Japan). TeamIndus has also signed a commercial agreement to carry a robotic rover developed by Japan’s HAKUTO.
