Information Technology solutions company Tech Mahindra has entered into enterprise device testing with the launch of its Near Field Communication (NFC) test lab in Bangalore.
The lab will provide NFC testing and consulting services to chipset manufacturers, OEMs, service providers, acquirers and issuers from the banking industry.
The ISO 17025 Accredited Lab, has met the Wave 1 test requirements as mandated by the NFC Forum and also has the infrastructure to meet the upcoming Wave 2 test requirements.
Currently there are nearly 400 million NFC-enabled smartphones deployed worldwide, and this number is projected to near 1 billion handsets by 2016. NFC is going to be an important player in the future, for the mobile payment space.
The Tech Mahindra NFC test lab will also offer Payments Certification and Testing Solutions to the leading global banks.

Tech Mahindra has also acquired Type Approval Lab in Lund,Southern Sweden from Sony. The Sweden based lab will provide end-to-end test solutions to device manufacturers and Global Carriers.
