Times Internet has entered into a strategic partnership with massive open online courses (MOOCs) company Coursera to help the company grow its presence in India.
Further, Times Internet also participated in the $49.5 million Series C funding round that Coursera closed earlier today.
The company will assist Coursera with operating, strategic and marketing support in India, while also helping students and professionals in the discovery of the online courses company.
Coursera already claims to have one million registered Indian users and will be partnering with Indian universities and corporations to develop localised content in the business and technology domains.
“Coursera is the gold standard for the emerging wave of education technology companies. We are excited to bring Times Internet’s growth capabilities behind such a strong product,” said Satyan Gajwani, CEO, Times Internet.
