Times Internet’s TimesCity has partnered with customer engagement platform, Mobikon to enable TimesCity users to book restaurant reservations directly through the site.
Post partnership with TimesCity, Mobikon’s Konekt platform will be integrated into the TimesCity discovery tools to enable a real-time match between consumer intent and availability at restaurants ensuring that both. The online booking service will make it fast and efficient for users to find available tables that meet the desired criteria for cuisine, price, and location at any given time.
Mobikon Asia Pte Ltd, the cross-border Singapore-India startup raised Series A funding worth $1.7million from Singapore-based Jungle Ventures in 2012.
This is an important step for TimesCity, as the portal moves from a pure restaurant directory, reviews/ratings to a transaction model, which hopefully will result in better monetization (aside: at the time of writing this, the partnership isn’t yet live on TimesCity). TimesCity recently acquired Gawbl app which suggests food based on the user’s mood.
Very recently, local search service, Justdial too entered into online food ordering business.
