HeadHonchos.com launches executive education portal for senior professional

HeadHonchos.com, a job search portal for senior professionals has launched its learning portal HeadHonchos’ Executive Education. According to a company statement, this initiative aims at assisting professionals in mid-management  and senior roles to explore executive learning options that will enhance their knowledge and career growth prospects. This step to connect course seekers to various institutes gives professionals access to information about a range of Certificate programmes, workshops and Executive MBA programs, the statement said.

At present, it lists courses offered by B-schools including the IIMs, INSEAD, Wharton, Harvard Business School, and the Indian School of Business among others.

Cleartrip unveils iphone application

Online travel agency, Cleartrip has unveiled its mobile application for iPhone.  Cleartrip’s iPhone app brings you a split-screen search experience which enables users to search, select and see the total price all on one screen. The app offers a new search form with some handy features such as geo-location for selecting departure airport for current location, recently searched airports and the ability to easily swap the “from” and “to” cities with a tap. Also neatly packed are the recent searches, so that they can be searched again with just a touch.

After selection of desired flight by the user, payments can be made using credit cards, debit cards or a net banking account. Alternately, by signing into the Cleartrip Account, payments can be made using Expressway, a one-click checkout service. The cards selected on Cleartrip’s desktop site are also available on this app. In case it’s not enabled, a fresh Expressway account can be activated by saving card details through the app.

TimesJobs.com launches StepAhead-  a career services portal

TimesJobs.com has launched a career services portal StepAhead. According to the company statement, StepAhead is a one-stop destination offering a host of services customized for senior, mid and entry levels professionals. StepAhead’s portfolio of paid services range from expert advice and analysis of strength of a user’s resume and tips on ‘how to’ make it better with Resume critique.

Currently, StepAhead provides Resume Distribution and Job Search Management services to ensure that the usres’ profile reaches recruiters. With StepAhead’s Profile Verification Service, users can get profile’s credentials, both academic qualifications and employment histories verified, and win recruiters’ trust. Apart from that, it also offers career astrology, predictions in the areas of workplace compatibility, career growth, personal SWOT analysis including several other features.

Times Internet becomes auctioneer for 2G spectrum

Times Internet Limited (TIL) has been selected as the auctioneer to operate India’s 2G spectrum e-auction process for spectrum in 1800 MHz and 800 MHz bands by Department of Telecommunications (DoT). [Via]

Apart from TIL, NCDEX Spot Exchange and Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation were the two other firms in the race. These two firms could not qualify the technical bids. The e-auction will entail inviting applications, resolving queries of potential bidders, finalising eligible bidders, holding public information sessions and a mock auction.
