In-App Ads On Tinder Could Be A Reality Soon

Given that the app has free access to a user’s age and other personal info, advertising can be highly targeted. Not to mention most people on Tinder are single.

Popular dating app Tinder is building out its first ad product and is looking for potential partners that include Facebook and Twitter.
The app currently doesn’t generate any revenues, but is expected to be a strong ad platform given the vast amount of personal data and its streamlined audience.
Brian Norgard, co-founder of ephemeral messaging startup Tappy, which Tinder acquired in January, has become Tinder’s VP of Advertising Products.
IAC, which owns stake in Tinder had said that the app would be advertising by the end of last year, however things never materialized.
Tinder also experimented with promoting Bollywood films, where profiles of the actors would show up as that of a regular user, which would then prompt them to watch the movie within chat.
