The duo of Toyota and Suzuki are in the early stages of work to develop a compact battery-operated electric vehicle for India.
Though Executive Vice-President of Toyota Motor Corporation, Shigeki Terashi, identified India is a key market for their compact electric vehicle, yet he did not assign a timeline to the project.
We will start with a compact BEV at an early stage….Since we are working (on it) with Suzuki, I cannot share the timeline”, He said.
The company recently showcased a production-ready compact EV slated to launch next year in Japan.
