Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that there is no need to ban petrol or diesel in order to promote zero-emission vehicles. He added that e-vehicles are gaining momentum naturally and reiterated the central govt’s stance that such an extreme step like this will not be required.

He also announced that all buses plying in the country will be converted to electric in the next two years and the use of the alternative source of energy like bio-CNG, ethanol, and methanol, etc. will be promoted.
