TripThirsty which wanted to be Pinterest for travel has pivoted and is relaunching as a one-stop directory for adventure travel.
Today, if you wish to find an adventure trip to join near Bangalore, the options are spread between several meetup.com groups, a few facebook groups and many websites. You could spend all your time googling, and still not find all the amazing options – wildlife photography workshops, reptile handling, women-only camping trips, and tons more. The situation is worse in most other cities.
Although companies like Tushky & PoshVine list some adventure experiences, they are really only scratching the surface of what’s available. Think of us as TripAdvisor for Adventure Experiences – we list everything, and customers can make up their own minds based on ratings and reviews.
TripThirsty is also trying to fix the last-mile issue and will promote the operators among its userbase.
When an operator lists a trip on TripThirsty, we can promote them to targeted subscribers from our 1000-strong user-base of travel enthusiasts.
TripThirsty is currently starting with Bangalore and will expand to other cities later. As far as monetization model is concerned, there are multiple channels – right from lead generation/sales to trip organizers to verified listing fees and commissions from online payments.
