Twitter officially bans third-party clients after cutting ties with key developers

  • Twitter has updated its developer terms to ban third-party clients.
  • This comes after Twitter cut ties with key app makers such as Tweetbot and Twitterific.
  • The “restrictions” section of Twitter’s developer agreement was updated with a clause prohibiting the “use or access the Licensed Materials to create or attempt to create a substitute or similar service or product”.
