UberMOTO, Uber’s Bike Sharing Service Launches in Hyderabad

Uber has launched its bike taxi service UberMOTO in Hyderabad, months after debuting the service in Bangalore, and shutting it down later due to govt regulation.

Both Uber and rival Ola had launched the two-wheeler service on the same day in Bangalore but had to shut it after the state government said it did not obtain the necessary permits to do so.

Starting operations from January 2017, Uber will be closely working with the Telangana govt, and has also signed an MOU to serve as last mile connectivity for the Hyderabad Metro rail services, when the metro service launches.

UberMOTO will charge Rs 20 for the first three kilometres and Rs 5 per kilometre after that, the company said.
