A roundup of some startups that have written to us recently.
1. CerraMatter – Cerramatter is a Bangalore based startup that sells pre-owned books online. The site currently lists about 40K titles at a reasonably low price. Shipping is free across India.
FlipGraph (now called Coinjoos) is another startup that sells used books and also offers an option to buyback in terms of virtual currency.
2. Muvi.com – Muvi is a content aggregator for movie reviews. Apart from aggregating reviews of popular movie critcs and from known print/online publications, one unique thing that Muvi does is quantifying twitter reviews. The team claims to use proprietary tool to auto tag the reviews on twitter as negative or positve and shows an aggregate score.
From what I observed, the tags are perfect. Although there are some social sentiments measurement tools like SocialMention but if the tool can classify tweets as good or bad then there certainly is a bigger application to it.
ReviewGang is another portal in movie review aggregation space.
3. DealDrums – DealDrums is yet another local deals site. DealDrums offers deals from Hyderabad only. The one advantage that the site has is that it is from the team behind FullHyd.com. Hence, they are getting the initial traction without much effort. The site already has 13K+ fans on Facebook.
