This Startup Is Taking Virtual Reality To The Masses; And It’s Damn Cool

And while we wait for startups to launch fancy VR stuff, this startup is actually making VR work for a useful cause.

The Problem Statement

Simhastha 2016 Ujjain will have 70 Million pilgrims hosted in 30 days festival in Ujjain. All this pilgrims want to see Mahakaal Temple and Bhasam aarti in Mahakaal Temple.

Only 150 people per day are allowed in Bhasam Aarti. TV and other gadgets will be installed across Kumbh Area. But they don’t give immersive experience to pilgrims.

The Solution?

TMVR shot 360 degree videos of Mahakaal Bhasam Aarti from Ujjain Collector and Mandir Prashan permission.

We would be installing 5000 Google cardboards and 20 Stalls which can showcase Bhasam Aarti to 4.5 Million piligrims. We would display this bhasam aarti by VR Mobile App as well as Oculus Rift.

What’s interesting is that Ujjain Collector and government has been very supportive in this project and even helped the team to bring sponsorship.

While the cool startups are building gaming over VR, the real India needs more tailored solutions.

What do you think are the use cases of VR in India?
