Walmart’s acquisition of Flipkart has made it country’s top retailer while Alibaba is named as the top retailer in Asia in a recent B2C study.
Walmart is followed by Amazon, Future group and Reliance in the domestic market. The Euromonitor study suggests that a change in shopping behavior and busy lifestyle of urban households is driving the shift in the retail industry.
Other key names in the list are Tata Group, One97 backed PaytM mall and Avenue Supermarts which runs Dmart stores.
