And the fight among Cab aggregators’ continues-After Ola launched its OlaMicro, last week and claims it to be the cheapest service,Uber has now slashed its prices across 10 non-metro cities.
Starting today, the company has reduced its uberGO prices.Prices have been slashed by upto 22% in Jodhpur and Udaipur while in Mangalore the prices have been cut by 20%.
Pune, Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Indore, Nagpur, Vizag, Trivandrum are the other cities where prices have been dropped by upto 18%.
Uber will now charge a base fare of Rs. 25 instead of Rs. 40 in Udaipur and Jodhpur. Also, the per kilometre charge has been reduced to Rs. 7 from Rs. 8.
The fare cut would bring the cost down to Rs. 5 per km in cities such as Vizag, Nagpur, Indore and Ahmedabad.
“We are decreasing uberGO prices by up to 22% making our service even more affordable for you to get where you need to go. The upside of these price cuts for riders is obvious as your Uber rides become even more affordable,” said the company in a statement.
It further added, “But it’s also important to note that with increased demand drivers get busier as well. More demand increases driver efficiency on the road, resulting in more trips per hour, and less idle time while driving on Uber.”
