Rediff has launched a new service called webinmail that enables one to receive webpages in their inbox. All you need to do is send a command in the subject (e.g. website url, google:<query>) to firstname.lastname@example.org
The received email will convert hyperlinks to email links, so that you can request subsequent pages as well.
Well, a similar service (called web2mail) was quite popular in the early days of web – I am not really sure what Rediff is trying to achieve via this service.
Maybe, whole lot of Indian companies have blocked Internet (Infosys blocked pluGGd.in) and a service like this can be useful to these users.
What’s your opinion?
