Adani Power's Shares Reach All-Time High on Monday

The week has opened with positive signs for the Indian stock market, with both Sensex and Nifty closing with more than a 2% gain on Monday.

Though the HDFC Bank and HDFC Ltd merger dominated the market, Adani power had its fair share to pull the market up.

Adani Power's shares on Monday touched a record high of ₹ 220.8 after opening at ₹ 207 at the NSE On Prospects Of Better Earnings.

On April 1, shares of power generation and related companies were in focus as the S&P BSE Power index had hit an over 14-year high in the intra-day trade.

Adani Power, Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) and NTPC from the index had rallied between 5 per cent to 10 per cent, while Power Grid Corporation.

Other power companies like Tata Power, Torrent Power and JSW Energy had advanced in the range of 2 per cent to 4 percent on the BSE.
