Aishwarya Rai Bachchan appears before ED in 'Panama Papers' case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for questioning in a case linked to the 2016 'Panama Papers

Previously, on two different occasions, Aishwarya had sought for adjournment. Now as part of the ongoing probe, she will have to depose before the agency’s Delhi office

According to reports, the leaked documents were originally obtained by the German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung

As per the reports, almost 12,000 of these fresh documents are linked to Indians, including celebrities and businessmen on the list.

The Enforcement Directorate(ED) has been probing the case since 2016 when the global leaks(Panama paper leak) came to light.

ED has issued notices to the Bachchan family asking them to explain their foreign remittances since 2004 under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) of the RBI
