Apple Users Can Now Use Face ID With a Mask On

Apple has given the fourth major update to the iOS and iPadOS 15 operating systems with the launch of iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4.

It is expected to be the last big update of iOS 15 before the unveiling of iOS 16 in June this year at the company's annual developers conference, WWDC.

The update comes a month after the launch of iOS 15.3.1 and iPadOS 15.3.1.

The biggest feature of this update is iPhone users can now use Face ID to unlock the phone while wearing a mask.

Even without the update, iPhone users could use Face ID to unlock their iPhones but they required Apple Watch to do so.

With the new iOS 15.4 update, users no longer need Apple Watch to use the feature. The update is available in iPhone 12 series and above models.
