UPSC topper Shruti Sharma on Monday shared her story with the India Today group right after the announcement of the results.

She did history hons at her graduation level from St Stephen's College, Delhi University.Shruti opted for a master's degree in modern history at the coveted Jawaharlal Nehru College.

However, she left her studies in the middle and got admitted to Jamia  Millia Islamia Residential Coaching Academy for UPSC preparations.

"At first I could not believe that my name was on the top. I checked the  results twice to confirm," she shared her first reaction after knowing  that she had become the topper.

Shruti gives credit for her success to her parents, teachers, and friends for being a constant support.

The Union Public Service Commission, UPSC, declared the UPSC Civil  Services Final Result 2021 today, on May 30 on its official website,  upsc.gov.in.

As many as 685 candidates have been appointed on the basis of their performance in the mains and personality tests.

A total of 749 vacancies were reported by the official website of UPSC,  out of which 180 seats would be reserved for IAS cadres, 37 for IFS, 200  for IPS, 242 for Central Services Group A, and 90 in Group B Services.
