Australia has retained the Ashes after a 3-0 series lead over England

Australia won by an innings and 14 runs as England's batsmen crumbled in the face of their pace attack, collapsing to 68 all out in the second innings

It was the shortest completed test match in Australia in 70 years, with only 1084 balls bowled in total.

Australian Scott Boland,, spearheaded the charge for the hosts, taking out six Englishmen in his debut.

Boland was also presented with the Johnny Mullagh medal, as he is only the second indigenous player to ever play for the Australian men's team.

 Ater the victory Scott said: "I thought we had a pretty good chance of winning but I had no idea we would do it before lunch

Though they can no longer win The Ashes, England will play two more matches in the hopes of regaining some pride.

Joe Root said "Credit to Australia, they blew us away last night and they've outplayed us in this test match and in this series so far," 

For winning captain Michael Vaughan tweeted his frustration, saying: "England nowhere near good enough... they will know that.
