Bill Maher Defies Strike, to Continue 'Real Time' Without Writers

Bill Maher plans to continue his HBO show, 'Real Time with Bill Maher,' despite the ongoing Hollywood strike.

He made this announcement on X, stating that he will resume the show without his writers.

Maher expressed sympathy for the striking writers but emphasized that other people in the industry are also facing issues.

The strike by the Writers Guild of America (WGA), involving 11,000 members, began in May due to failed contract negotiations.

The strike, now the longest in WGA history, has disrupted TV and film production in Hollywood for over 100 days.

SAG-AFTRA, the largest actors' union, joined the strike in July, marking the first dual strike in Hollywood since 1960.
