Bitcoin jumps 9.4% to climb back above $40,426 after 2 weeks; Ether up 11%

Bitcoin gained the most in more than three months as investors show signs of renewed risk appetite following a volatile week across financial markets

The largest cryptocurrency by market value jumped as much as 9.4% to $40,426, the most since Oct. 15. It hasn’t been above $40,000 in more than two weeks

Ether climbed as much as 11%. Even SOL, the native currency of the Solana blockchain that has tumbled surged about 10%.

In terms of INR, Bitcoin prices climbed over 9 percent to Rs 32,33,214, while Ethereum advanced 9.5 percent to Rs 2,34,199.9.

Bitcoin, the world's biggest and best-known cryptocurrency, is up 23.2% from the year's low of $32,950.72 on January 24.

The global cryptocurrency market capitalisation rose to $1.87 trillion over the last 24 hours from $1.70 trillion

The decentralised finance (DeFi) accounted for 13.44 percent of the total cryptocurrency trading volume at $12.21 billion in the last 24 hours.
