Budget 2023: FM Sitharaman raises capex spend to Rs 10 trillion

FM Nirmala Sitharaman said the increased capex for infrastructure development is 10.4 billion rupees, or 3.3% of the GDP.

She stated that the recently created infrastructure finance secretariat will help to increase private investment.

Capital expenditures are funds used by the government to construct buildings, machinery, equipment, schools, and other infrastructure.

The 33% year-over-year growth is just just less than the 35% increase from the previous year.

The government will also continue a 1.3 trillion rupees long-term loan to states for longer term investments.
