Centre bans PFI for 5 years, calls it 'unlawful association'
The government has declared the Popular Front of India and its associates as unlawful associations with immediate effect for a period of five years.
The move follows two rounds of massive countrywide raids on PFI leaders in terror fund cases.

The Centre said the PFI is involved in several criminal and terror cases.
Centre also said it shows sheer disrespect towards the constitutional authority with funds and ideological support from outside.
The government said it has become a major threat to the internal security of the country.
