Centre likely to propose renaming India as Bharat in special session

The government may introduce a resolution during a special parliamentary session from September 18-22 to rename India as "Bharat.

The current Indian Constitution refers to the country as "India, that is Bharat..."

But there is a growing demand to change it to simply "Bharat."

The official aircraft used for the President, Vice President, and Prime Minister already bears the name "Bharat."
