COVID variant BF.7: New COVID variant found in India

India has so far seen four cases of the Omicron sub-variant BF.7, the Covid strain that is responsible for the recent spike in infections in China.

Two cases from Gujarat and two from Odisha have so far been reported in which the BF.7 variation has been found.

It has already been found in a number of other nations, including the US, the UK, and other European countries.

Despite encouraging people to wear masks in busy areas, the government has stated that there is no reason to panic.

Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted, "COVID is not over yet. I have directed all concerned to be alert and strengthen surveillance."
