FIFA World Cup:
Arsene Wenger scolds teams engaged in political
Teams that have prioritized political messaging over football have come under fire from Arsene Wenger.
“When you go to a World Cup you know you must not lose the first game,
” said Wenger.
The Frenchman, who is currently in charge of FIFA's global football development, may have been referring to Germany in his statement.
The German team in the match against Japan covered their mouths to protest over the ban of ‘One love armbands’ by FIFA.
The move came after FIFA threatened seven European teams with sanctions if they wore the armbands.
