French Presidential Election: Emmanuel Macron Re-Elected

Emmanuel Macron secured the French presidential office for the second term, defeating his far-right rival Marine Le Pen.

The 44 year old French president Emmanuel Macron first took office on the 14th of May 2017.

Emmanuel Macron secured 58.6% voting, while his rival Le Pen got 41.4% voting.

Le Pen, a member of the National Assembly of France, has admitted defeat but she will keep fighting.

Emmanuel Macron is a pro-European Union and supports the unity of the EU. Macron has pledged to work for EU integration.

US president Joe Biden wrote on Twitter to congratulate the re-elected President of France Emmanuel Macron.
