Regulate cryptocurrencies; don't ban them
"IMF chief economist Gita Gopinath says -
The IMF chief economist Gita Gopinath suggested that rather than banning cryptocurrencies, developing economies should regulate them.
Gopinath, speaking at a National Council of Applied Economic Research event, called for an urgent global policy on the matter
She went on to say that cryptos are proving to be a challenge for emerging markets, and that strict regulation is urgently needed.

Gopinath also pointed out that, because of their decentralised nature, banning digital currencies has practical limitations.
Her comments come at a time when the government is mulling to bring a Bill on cryptocurrency regulation
