Heath, the bassist of Japan's rock band X Japan, has died at age 55 from colorectal cancer.
Heath joined X Japan in 1992 and played on their top-charting albums Art of Life and Dahlia.
Post-band breakup in '90s, Heath pursued a solo career and formed Dope Headz with X Japan guitarist Pata, releasing four albums.
X Japan sold over 30 million albums around the world, having a significant influence on the visual-kei rock movement.
The band reunited in 2007 with Heath continuing as their bassist until his death.
X Japan made their U.S. debut in the 2010 Lollapalooza tour and signed a label deal with EMI Music in 2011.
