BBC presenter Huw Edwards has been suspended over allegations that he paid for explicit images, leading to his hospitalization due to serious mental health issues.
Edwards' wife, Vicky Flind, confirmed her husband was the subject of these rumors after two police forces announced that there was no evidence of any criminal offence committed by him.
The tabloid 'The Sun' initially reported that Edwards had begun purchasing photos from an individual when they were 17.
The Sun has denied claims of alleging any illegal activity, and had promised to cooperate with the BBC's internal investigations, presenting a redacted dossier.
The BBC's Six O'Clock News erroneously reported that Edwards had resigned, but later corrected this while also presenting new claims of Edwards sending uncomfortable messages to three colleagues.
Leading BBC journalists and ex-colleagues have shown support for Edwards, while 'The Sun' will not be publishing any more claims against him.
