Karnataka election 2023: Voter turnout crosses 37% as of 1 pm

The State Assembly election in Karnataka has witnessed a voter turnout of 37.25% as of 1 p.m. on polling day.

The Karnataka State Assembly elections in 2023 have become highly contentious and competitive among major political parties.

The BJP, Congress, Janata Dal (Secular), and Aam Aadmi Party released their manifestos a week prior to the elections.

A total of 3,632 candidates filed nominations, while 2,615 candidates are in the fray for the elections.

The State has 5,31,33,054 eligible voters across 58,545 polling stations, with a significant number of young voters.

Public campaigns concluded on May 8, with the counting of votes scheduled for May 13.
