Kerala Day 2022: Marking the birth of the state of Kerala

Every year on 1 November, the state of Kerala celebrates Kerala Day. It is a special day marks the birth of the state.

The state of Kerala was created on 1 November 1956. Before that, it was three major provinces and several outlying regions under various rulers.

Prior to 1956, Kerala had been divided into four regions: South Canara (Kasaragod region), Malabar, Cochin, and Travancore.

The princely states of Travancore and Cochin merged on July 01, 1949, to form the Travancore-Cochin State.

Later, the Malabar region (formerly a part of Madras state) was incorporated into Travancore-Cochin.

The state of Kerala came into existence on November 01, 1956.

Kerala Piravi day is special to all those who love their own Kerala state more than anything else.
