Kevin Afghani will voice Mario, taking over from Charles Martinet who recently retired.
Afghani announced his new role on X (formerly Twitter), expressing pride in voicing Mario and Luigi.
In the new game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Mario and friends visit the Flower Kingdom and battle a transformed King Bowser.
Afghani has previously performed voice roles in animated series Dragon Ball R&R, Arnold in Genshin Impact and Anime Penguin: Red Snow.
Martinet, the original Mario voice actor, will now serve as Mario Ambassador, engaging with fans worldwide but not recording game voices.
