Kia Carens launched in India at Rs. 9 lakh

South Korean automaker Kia Motors has launched its Carens SUV in India. It is offered in five variants, namely, Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus

Kia Carens was unveiled in December last year and it is the company's fourth model in India after the Seltos, Carnival, and Sonet. It has amassed over 7,738 bookings here

The four-wheeler takes on rivals such as the Tata Safari, Hyundai ALCAZAR, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700.

The car is offered in eight shades, including Imperial Blue, Clear White, Intense Red, Sparkling Silver, and Gravity Gray.

The Kia Carens has a thin chrome bar, a chrome-surrounded radiator grille, split-LED headlamps, and LED fog lights

The Kia Carens gets three engine options: a 1.5-liter petrol engine , a 1.4-liter turbo-petrol motor , and a 1.5-liter diesel mill that churns out 112hp/250Nm.

Kia Carens has a 6/7-seater cabin, featuring second-row seats , ambient lighting, air purifier, roof-mounted AC vents, a wireless charger, an electric sunroof, and a multifunctional steering wheel.

In India, the petrol-powered Kia Carens starts at Rs. 8.99 lakh and goes up to Rs. 16.99 lakh. Meanwhile, the diesel variants of the SUV fall in the price-bracket of Rs. 10.99-16.99 lakh
