Labour Day 2023: Everything you need to know about Workers' Day

Labour Day is celebrated on May 1st every year across the globe.

It is also known as May Day or Worker’s Day.

The day is observed to raise awareness and educate people about the importance and rights of workers.

The holiday originated from a public parade of labor organizations in New York City in 1882 and was influenced by the Haymarket Riot in Chicago in 1886.

On May 1, 1923, India began commemorating Labour Day.
