Lal Bahadur Shastri's death anniversary

Lal Bahadur Shastri  passed away on January 11, 1966.  He was in Tashkent, Uzbekistan where he signed the peace agreement between India and Pakistan named The Tashkent Declaration.

1. Was it a heart attack?

After signing the treaty, Shastri mysteriously passed away in Tashkent. It was said that he passed away due to a heart attack

2. Was Shastri poisoned?

Kuldip Nayar, in his column for Outlook India magazine, wrote, "When I returned from Tashkent, Lalita Shastri asked me why Shastri’s body had turned blue.

3. Shastri family was convinced that he had been poisoned

In his column , Kuldip Nayar revealed that Shastri's family members were convinced there was a foul play in his death.

4. Post-mortem was not done

Despite the death was in a suspicious condition, the post-mortem of his body was not done. There is no record of his death available in the Parliamentary Library

5 .Was the CIA behind Shastri's      death ?

US intelligence agency CIA agent Robert Crowley had claimed in an interview that the CIA was behind Shastri's death.

6. Death of two eye-witnesses

Servant Ramnath and private doctor Dr RN Chugh who accompanied Shastri to Tashkent died before they could appear before the parliamentary body.
