Meta removes over 38.4 million content on Facebook in March in India
In March, Meta actioned over 38.4 million pieces of content for Facebook and 4.61 million pieces of content for Instagram in India.
The company actioned 2.4 million pieces of content for adult nudity and sexual activity, and 260,000 pieces of content for bullying and harassment.
Facebook received 7,193 reports through the Indian grievance mechanism in March and responded to 100% of these reports.
Facebook provided tools for users to resolve their issues in 1,903 cases, including channels to report content violations and avenues to address account hacking.
This report was released under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 for the period from March 1 to March 31.
Meta complied with one order of the newly formed Grievance Appellate Committee during this period.
