Neal Mohan, a longtime Indian-American YouTube executive, has been appointed the company's new CEO.
He took over for Susan Wojcicki, who on Thursday announced her resignation from her position.

Neal Mohan received his Stanford University degree in electrical engineering.
Mohan, Susan Wojcicki's longtime lieutenant, joined Google in 2007 after DoubleClick was acquired.
In his capacity as chief product officer at YouTube, Mohan concentrated on creating the YouTube Shorts, Music, and subscription businesses.
Mohan has previously worked for Microsoft and is a member of the boards of 23andMe and Stitch Fix.
