Netflix shares plan to end password sharing; check details

The controversial plan by Netflix to prevent password sharing by forcing trusted devices to log in at the primary location once a month has been scrapped.

The dominant streaming service chose periodic device verification instead.

In order to connect to their primary location's Wi-Fi, Netflix wanted customers to establish a trusted device.

Later on, though, this was dropped in favour of device verification via a code.

However, Netflix did not specify how it planned to handle users who are willing to share verification codes with those borrowing their passwords.
