Shahid Kapoor starrer "Jersey " accused of plagiarism , case to be heard in Bombay HC

As per a report published in the Times of India, writer Rajneesh Jaiswal has filed a case against the makers of Jersey and alleged that the story/script of the movie belongs to him.

The Gowtam Tinnanuri directorial, which was slated to release on April 14 this year, has been postponed by a week and will now be releasing on April 22.

Jersey is said to be a remake of the National Award-winning Telugu sports drama Jersey, which starred superstar Nani and Shraddha Srinath in the key roles.

The film was originally scheduled to be released in December of last year, but it was postponed due to a high increase in COVID-19 cases.

Meanwhile, the makers of the film Jersey haven’t revealed the reason for the shift in the release but the main reason could be the court case

The Upcoming movie Jersey will feature Shahid playing the role of a cricketer for the first time on the big screen.

Apart from Shahid, the movie will also star Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in the lead for the movie Jersey

The Plagiarism case against the makers of Jersey Movie is supposed to be heard in Mumbai High Court today
