NASA earlier said that a massive solar magnetic solar geomagnetic storm is likely to hit Earth on 14th April 2022.
If this happens, it may cause a global blackout today and tomorrow.
Both NASA and NOAA confirmed on Tuesday that a halo coronal mass ejection (CME) was spotted racing towards the Earth.
The Geomagnetic storm that is heading towards Earth today is not very strong and is classified as G2-class.
A dead sunspot exploded on April 11, causing a massive amount of solar material to eject toward the earth.
The storm headed towards the planet can damage high-latitude power systems, affect the power grid and spacecraft in orbit.
