Spain’s Sergio Ramos announces retirement from international football

Spain's most capped player Sergio Ramos declared his retirement from international matches.

After speaking on the phone with the new manager Luis de la Fuente, he declared his retirement.

Ramos, who played for Real Madrid in La Liga and is now a member of PSG's Ligue 1 squad.

In 2005, Ramos made his international debut for Spain. He has since played 180 times for his nation.

“With great regret, it is the end of a journey that I hoped would be longer," Ramos’ statement said.
