The Tata Group announced a ₹13,000 crore investment to set up a 20GW lithium-ion cell manufacturing factory in Gujarat and another in the UK.
The cells will supply to Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover for their electric vehicles and cater to renewable energy storage solutions in Europe and the UK from 2026.
The gigafactory aims to maximize renewable energy mix, employ innovative technologies including battery recycling to deliver a circular economy ecosystem.
