The Fall of Former NSE CEO Chitra Ramkrishna: Unfolding Scam at NSE
Last week, an order from stock market regulator SEBI stated that Ramkrishna shared sensitive information regarding the business of the NSE with an unidentified person.
This unknown person is reported to be dwelling in Himalaya and giving advices to the ex-CEO on how to run NSE.
Ramkrishna, 59, is the third woman to head an exchange in the Asia-Pacific region after Sri Lanka's Colombo Stock Exchange and China's Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
A SEBI panel formed in 2016 started an investigation into corporate misgovernance at the NSE. Ramkrishna has been away from public life since the day she resigned in December 2016.
The CBI has questioned her and issued lookout circulars against the ex-CEO, her predecessor Ravi Narain and former Group Operating Officer (GOO) Anand Subramanian.
The regulator found the former NSE Chief guilty of divulging confidential information, financial results and projections, board meeting consultations to her unknown spiritual guru.
