The Freelancer review:
A gripping thriller of battling terror
"The Freelancer," directed by Bhav Dhulia and based on "A Ticket To Syria," is a standout addition to the extraction thriller genre.
The film begins with a gripping sequence featuring a young Indian girl fleeing her captors in Turkey.
Avinash Kamat, a mercenary and ex-Mumbai cop, is hired for a dangerous mission in Afghanistan.
Aliya, the Indian girl, is deceived by her in-laws and taken to Syria, where she gets entangled with ISIS.
The film's portrayal of Syria, recreated in Morocco, effectively captures the atmosphere of fear and chaos.
